  • Write down your 2-5 high level goals in clear, everyday language without buzzwords or jargon
  • Present these goals to the organization
  • Ask a developer to explain your goals back to you
  • Ask how their current work supports a goal (directly or indirectly)
  • Use a simple spreadsheet to measure shippable features as an indication of team progress
  • Did you complete your daily thinking appointment?
  • When interacting with your team(s), how is the team’s engagement and interactions?
  • When engaging with your team(s), do you model behaviors you expect from them:
    • Positive
    • Direct
    • Honest
    • All negative feedback in person
    • Promoting desired behaviors
